Camp Report 2022
(Camp Remote, Oregon)
To our Lord Jesus Christ and the Oregon State Association of Missionary Baptist Churches,
We were excited and thankful to be able to host camp this year after the two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Though we had a smaller camp this year, the Lord blessed those in attendance with a week filled with the spirit of love and fellowship. All praise and glory are given to our almighty and amazing God for His power and saving grace. Attendance ranged from 41 to 46 campers throughout the week with 5 churches represented. Thank you to all who attended. It was a tremendous blessing to share in the fellowship of God’s people.
The theme of camp this year was “The Mighty God”, as encouraged by Jeremiah 32:17-18 & Joshua 1:9. As is true for every year at camp, God’s men preached the truth and His Word touched hearts with one profession of faith given. The teachers worked hard to present lessons teaching students about our Mighty God. Lessons were based on the life of Moses with 5 key themes; God loves me, God calls me, God saves me, God guides me and God cares for me. Every year, many volunteers are needed for camp to run smoothly. Camp is completely volunteer run with no one receiving compensation. Without volunteers, camp would not be possible. We would like to thank all of the volunteers for their hard work and efforts. Camp is always a wonderful place for everyone to hear God’s Word, enjoy activities and fellowship with God’s people.
Please pray for next year's camp as the Coquille Church and its camp committee begin their planning. Due to the unfortunate extreme inflation for all products and services, camp fees collected this year did not cover the expenses. The camp committee is still evaluating all possible options to reduce expenses before determining what camp fees will need to be next year. We encourage all churches to consider fundraising activities and sponsorships to assist campers from their churches who plan to attend camp.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year at camp. Most importantly, we give thanks and praise to our almighty and awesome God. Our Church Camp would not be possible without the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and the faithfulness of His people.
Tentative camp dates for next year are July 17-21, 2023.
We welcome feedback, suggestions, inquiries and encouragement that anyone would like to send and share. (PO Box 514, Coquille, OR 97423)
