Northwest Camp Report
To the churches of the Oregon Association of Missionary Baptist Churches
Camp Report for the Northeast Missionary Baptist Family Camp
We held our camp the week of July 22-26, 2024, at Cove Christian Camp in Cove, OR. Our camp theme was “Discovery the Mysteries.” Each day we have 7 Bible scenes created with props for the camper to discovery what scenes the props depicted. We had 47 campers in attendance (25 were youth and 22 were adult campers). We had a new church join us from Tacoma, WA. They were a huge help with the camp effort. The Aloha church handled all the activities, and they did a terrific job! This year’s camp was the hottest camp effort. We had some kind of water game every day, including a dunk tank. Due to the wildfires, we weren’t able to have campfire, but we made do. The Aloha church (specifically Br Jeff Flowers and Sis Jordyn Flowers) did a great job heading up the “campfire” effort that were held just outside the dining hall. We used the barbecue grill to roast our marshmallows for smores. What’s camp without smores?!
While at camp we enjoyed classes, fellowship, games, preaching and good food. Our annual Thursday night Talent Show was filled with some great talented youth and adults. We shared lots of laughter and tears, with the highlight of camp being that we had 2 young people come to the Lord and others excited about their walk with the Lord. We are truly looking forward to what the Lord has in store for future camp efforts.
Again, this year we were able to keep the costs to $50 per camper due to a church in Walla Walla who send monthly donations to the camp fund. However, next year we may need to increase the cost per camper, as our cushion has finally been used. The camp effort cost $6,000 (with over $4,500 being for the campground), and the camper fees equaled just over $3,200 (to include the monthly donations). We will evaluate next year’s cost and get that information out as soon as we have it available.
We have already secured our dates for next year’s camp. It will be held at the same location during the week of July 21-25, 2024. We would like to thank everyone who came and helped make this year’s camp such a sweet success.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom...” Luke 6:38
“...he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he has purposeth in his heart, so let him give;...for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” II Corinthians 9:6-8
We, at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Coquille are truly blessed to be a part of the Northwest Mission & Church Development Fund; and count it a privilege to be the custodian of these funds. As fellow brethren, with a common goal of furthering the gospel of Christ, we should rejoice as God’s plan continues to unfold for the missions and churches here in the great Northwest. As with the Israelites, we should heed the words of Moses from Exodus 14:13 and “...Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord...”
We are thankful for the sister churches that faithfully contribute to the Northwest Mission & Church Development Fund. Your continued support helps make it possible for funds to be available when a sister church or mission is in need. God knows what our needs will be before we do, and prepares the hearts of brethren to respond accordingly.
