Camp Report 2012

To our Lord Jesus Christ and the Oregon State Association of Missionary Baptist Churches,

In our seventh year at Camp Remote, the Lord truly blessed with a spirit of love and fellowship throughout the attendees. As the Holy Spirit called out and the gospel was preached, one profession of faith was given over the week. All praise and glory is given to our almighty and amazing God for His power and saving grace.

This was the 30th year the Coquille Church has sponsored Church Camp. There were ten churches and one mission represented. Attendance was steady at 80 campers. Thank you to all who attended. It was a tremendous blessing to share in the fellowship of God’s people.

The theme of camp this year was “Rejoice”. There are 240 uses of the word rejoice in the Word of God. This brought rise to an interesting challenge for choosing a specific scripture for camp. The Holy Spirit was powerful in moving the men who preached, and “Rejoicing” was absolutely the topic of the week for everyone. The Lord blessed with teachers who were an invaluable part of camp. It is always a great blessing to see children learning about our great God!

Every year, many volunteers are needed for camp to run smoothly. Camp directors, camp secretaries, camp cooks, dishwasher operators, dorm sponsors, camp nurse, preachers, teachers, song leader, piano players, snack-shack operators, sound system operator, arts and crafts, camp-fire coordinators, planned activity coordinators and so many more. We would like to thank these volunteers for their hard work and efforts, many of whom were first-year campers. All are truly appreciated.

Donations were given and a new piano, with stand, was purchased for the camp this year. What a tremendous blessing it was for camp to receive the donations, and praise the Lord for his provisions.

Camp Remote is always a wonderful place for everyone to hear God’s Word, enjoy activities and fellowship with God’s people. Please pray

for next year’s camp as the Coquille Church and the camp committee begins their planning. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

Most importantly, we give thanks and praise to our almighty and awesome God. Church Camp would not be possible without the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and the faithfulness of His people.

In His Service,

Elder Mike Chandler, Pastor

First Missionary Baptist Church of Coquille
